Today's Thoughts on DV/SA || TW

06.18.22@11:49am..

Do people not care? Do people think DV/SA is funny? Why aren't people showing concern/support to a victim/survivor? Why is a victim/survivor coping with DV/SA alone? I've been asking this myself for weeks now as I'm a recent victim of SA in conjunction, a 10 year survivor of DV. A few people I know here, know very few details as I'm a very quiet person to begin with & who doesn't open up easily but it's obvious from the vague things I've stated for over a year now about what he, the perpetrator, has done to me, the last 2 years. So, that is what this entry is about. I've got ALOT going on in my life but I make DARN sure others are doing ok/check on their welfare....Which brings me to the trial that concluded recently about DV. Something I thought about: Regardless of which "team" you supported, I took notice that 'some' such as myself, did show concern for BOTH the plaintiff & defendant of the trial as it was a case of defamation which was about a VERY serious topic; DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. The case was NOT about A-List celebrities. The case should NOT have turned into mockery, etc at the expense of DV (though I believe alot of what SHE stated were false), NOTHING about this case was funny. The case DID depict they BOTH were guilty of ab***ve behavior though Ms. H was, IMO, was the aggressor. But even so, where is the support of BOTH victims? All we see is fans cheering that Mr. D won, which I agree he should have but has ANYONE thought about the after effects of BOTH victim's emotional state of what DV has done to each of them? Had this been a national trial of DV/SA of 2 people who were NOT celebrities but everyday people, the outcome would've been one of CARE/SUPPORT/CONCERN for the victim(s). Such cases as ones that are decades old like Ms. T. Thurman, Mr. E MacCaffery(alias?) from a TRUE movie titled Men Don't Tell, Ms. F Hughes or Ms. Scrippts. The 1st 3 cases were not of celebrities but the 4th case was of a socialite who's case didn't turn into a media frenzy but one where there was concern & compassion. In closing, I sure would like to know why everyday people don't seem to take DV/SA seriously or care. And as far as the trial that concluded? MOST, but not all, seemed to care more about the celebrity status of each. Though I'm a JD fan, that is NOT why I became concerned about this case. It was the matter that it involved DV/SA. Not ANY celebrity.

Sincerely,
